It's All Right

Well, i've been slacking on the blogging. Obviously. Most anyone who reads this knows I have a dumb problem going on with my cervical spine, which is a fancy way of saying "neck" apparently. Who knew? I'm sure a lot of people did. I on the other hand, think of an entirely different body part when I hear the word "cervical"... ahem...

S'anyway, I've not been able to take many pictures due to the ol' pain in the neck and it's sort of getting me down. I have realized that I take a lot of things for granted. Like my right hand for instance. I pretty much don't do anything that doesn't involve my trusty right hand. I have a completely new understanding of the phrase "right hand man". I currently have a lot of pain, weakness and numbness in my right hand so he's on light duty. I wonder if he got tired of my lack of appreciation and this is his way of going on strike.

Where my hand has been slacking, my family has definately swooped right in and helped pick it up, the slack that is. Lee has been the pill police and has appointed himself full time Pain Manager. He and the kids have also been wonderful about helping to take care of the house and the J's. I'm very proud of them and I'm soooooo grateful for all of their extra effort.

Here's a pic I snapped of Hannah and Jones the other day. How sweet are they?? I just love it when I catch them loving each other :o) Even better to catch it on 'film'!

Tiny Little Drunk People

I've been very tired the last several days. And my back hurts, or my shoulder, or maybe it's my arm. I can't pin point it, but it sure does hurt. Being tired and in pain can make you pretty irritable. It doesn't take much for things to get on my nerves, and I know that so I'm trying to keep myself in check. This morning the J's were being their usual toddler selves and they weren't being *bad* really, but I was being a wee bit short with them. I wondered why thier usual antics would bug me so much and I had a revelation. They act like tiny little drunk people.
They were hanging all over me, totally invading my personal space. I tried to pry them off of me but they were relentless. Jonah wanted "something" but it was almost impossible to understand him because he was mumbling and slurring his speech. He then became irate because I'm not a mind reader and he took off crying and running towards the fridge. Jaden followed and they both ended up stumbling and falling over each other. After exchanging a few shoves back and forth they finally made it to the kitchen. Jonah wanted ice cream and when I refused to serve him he got mad and started pitching a fit. Does this scene remind anyone else of an encounter with an inebriated induvidual? I'll admit, it's amusing sometimes, especially when I'm not feeling tired and achy. But today I was SO glad when it was nap time and my "tiny little drunk people" finally passed out.

More Valentine's Cards....

After spending a day or two not looking at the pictures of Jonah, I realized there were a few that I could use to make a card. I think a lot of times I have this idea of what I want and if I don't capture it I think I need to scrap all the pic's. I'll come back to the pictures after some time has passed and see them differently. I'm weird like that. So Jonah has a card!
I did Jadens over because I didn't like the way his sock monkey was being a copy catter in the first one. They were both sitting in the wagon in the exact same way. If he would have just held the sock monkey, maybe even hugged him... anything other then angrily rejecting him and tossing him across the room, it would have made my job much easier. So which one do you like better? Ugly greyish sock monkey card or blue sock monkey card?

Here are a few more from Jonah's session. I considered the first one for his card, but I couldn't think of anything clever to say with it. He's looking off to the side so I didn't think it worked for a card that is meant to tell someone you love them. I think eye contact is pretty important in a declaration of ones affection.

I love that second one. It wasn't until days later that I realized what he was telling me when I was taking it. He kept saying "I'm Superman!" and doing that thing with his hand. I was like "OK, you're Superman. Look over here Superman." What he was doing was making SPIDERMAN hands. How cute is he?? I love him ::big throbbing heart::

Oh and just a side note: That cute little fish bowl of candy hearts met it's demise. It lasted about a day and half. The boys noticed it on the kitchen counter and tried to get it down. I heard the loud smash of glass and I was so scared they were going to slice their feet on it. It's a miracle they didn't have a scratch on them, especially considering they must have thought it was opposite day. No matter how many times I said "DON'T MOVE!", they just kept scampering back and forth across the kitchen floor. I guess glass is no obstacle for a man of steel.

Valentine's Day Cards

I have been trying to get some pictures of the kids so I can make them personalized Valentine's Day cards. So far it's proven to be much more work then I expected. I don't think I got one good picture of Jonah. Jaden was WILD and wouldn't even sit still. I wish I was better at photoshop. I haven't really decided if I'm using either of these. Jaden's is nothing like I want it to look, but I don't know if I can find the energy to try and do his pictures again. So here you go MOM, I know you are eagerly awaiting another post. And yes, I know there are 3 kids missing. Hopefully i'll get around to doing them before Valentine's Day is over.
